STREET NAME
Rombout Hogerbeets, also Hoogerbeets, June 24, 1561 - September 7, 1625, was a Dutch politician. Hogerbeets ran into political trouble when the Bestandstwisten broke out in 1617. He sided with Johan van Oldenbarnevelt and was therefore arrested in August 1618. After a trial, he was sentenced to life imprisonment and forfeiture of all his property along with Hugo de Groot in 1619. Ultimately, he would spend only four years in captivity at Slot Loevestein because he was released in August 1625 by order of the newly appointed Stadtholder Frederik Hendrik.
